Rose fertilizer

Rose fertilizer can be made at home if we have a little time, it is worth trying it out. If we don’t have time or don’t want to experiment, we can of course buy it ready-made. There are several types of fertilizers to choose from. But let’s first see the homemade fertilizer, which has the great advantage that it can be made at a very favorable price compared to the ready-made ones.

Homemade rose fertilizer

Let’s make it from what we find at home, in the household.

Sugar

Sugar is particularly good for plants, unlike its consumption by humans. It makes them much more beautiful and greener, so it’s worth adding a teaspoon of sugar to the watering water from time to time. It can also be sprinkled directly on the flower soil, in which case it should be watered with room temperature water. Cacti especially love sugar.

Banana

Bananas contain a lot of potassium, which is highly beneficial for plants. How can we provide this nutrient to the plants? The simplest way is as follows: the banana peel should be cut into small pieces and buried, mixed into the flower soil. Another possible method is to dry the peels during winter, grind them in spring, and use it as fertilizer for seedlings and plants.

Castor oil

Castor oil is primarily known in traditional medicine as a laxative, while in cosmetics and the beauty industry, it plays a significant role in maintaining healthy hair, nails, and skin. However, it has beneficial effects not only on the human body but also on plants, as it promotes the development of buds and shoots. One teaspoon of oil should be mixed with one liter of water and used to water the flowers.

Fertilizer for potted rose varieties

For potted roses, it is worth preparing the following fertilizer.

Ingredients:

  • 10 grams of fresh crumbled yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 liter of warm water

Preparation:

  1. Mix the crumbled yeast with a little water, then add the sugar and continue stirring.
  2. Let it rest for at least 2 hours.
  3. Dilute the solution with water. The dilution ratio should be 1:5.

It is recommended to water the plants with this solution three times a month in spring and summer, and once a month in autumn and winter.

Yeast contains numerous nutrients that promote plant growth and are particularly beneficial for roots. The change is noticeable within a few months. It is worth trying.

Of course, for those who do not want to mix fertilizers themselves, they can also purchase them ready-made at garden centers.
